The Challenge

The client envisioned a green and white kitchen with a classic frame design but wanted a thinner frame and preferred to avoid a sprayed finish. While a sprayed kitchen offers a beautiful and a highly personalised look, they were concerned that, with a dog in the home, it might be more prone to surface scratches over time. They needed an alternative that maintained the elegance of a framed design while offering a practical solution for their lifestyle.

Another key requirement was a large island—both in width and depth—as they love to host home gatherings. When exploring their options, they found that some suppliers expressed concerns about the feasibility of incorporating such a spacious island due to the layout of their kitchen, which included a balcony with sliding doors and an inner step leading to the balcony. This raised questions about passage space and overall functionality.

However, for the client, the kitchen was more than just a practical space—it was meant to be a welcoming hub for social gatherings, making the right design choices essential.

The Floor Plan

The Solution

Understanding their priorities, the DARI team suggested a design from the dell Collection, which features a thinner frame and is made from laminate wood, offering the frame look they loved while being more resistant to wear and tear—a perfect solution for their needs.

To accommodate their large island request, the team carefully analysed the layout, ensuring that the design allowed for a spacious and comfortable flow around the island while keeping the balcony area accessible. By adjusting measurements and fine-tuning the positioning, we ensured they could have the hosting space they envisioned without compromising functionality.

Additionally, the client wanted to integrate open shelving into the kitchen, providing space for plants, books, and decorative items. Within the island, they also wanted a wine storage display that faced outward, making it easily accessible to guests while adding to the overall aesthetic appeal of the space.

Throughout the process, the DARI team provided ongoing design support, refining options until the client was completely satisfied with both the functionality and aesthetics of their kitchen.

The Result

The final kitchen design achieved the perfect balance of style, practicality, and personal expression. The combination of white, green, and wood-finish shelving created a warm and inviting atmosphere, beautifully complementing their vibrant décor of plants, books, and wine displays.

The spacious island became the heart of the kitchen—both a statement piece and a functional gathering space—allowing them to host effortlessly while maintaining an open and airy feel. Despite the balcony’s fixed step, the design ensured ample space for movement, while the natural light streaming in further enhanced the beauty of the dell Collection kitchen.
