Project: Bedroom and TV Unit

“Our experience with DARI was great as soon as we stepped into the showroom. It is equipped with several beautiful furniture on display, all locally manufactured, which immediately made us realise we did the right choice.

The customer service was also excellent, and we loved the fact that the furniture is highly customisable and any request we had was made possible. We would like to thank Dave for all his patience and attention to detail throughout the whole process. We are very happy with our bedroom and TV unit, highly elegant and really uplifted our space.”

The Challenge

Adapting showroom models to suit a specific space can be challenging. This goes beyond adjusting furniture sizes and layouts. True flexibility considers several other factors. This includes their style, electricity points and room dimensions. Christine and Jean Carl visited the DARI showroom and set their sights on one of our bedrooms and living wall units. The layout of the showroom, however, looked nothing like the space they had available within their home. Our challenge lay in reimagining the furniture they had chosen in a way that would best suit the needs of our clients. They required:

  • A central television screen opposite the bed.
  • Space to hang coats and hold light decorative items on the open-end shelving unit.
  • A colour scheme to match the client’s bed.
  • The Solution

Flexibility in design allows DARI to personalise showroom models to fit any space, no matter their shape or size. The TV positioning requirement – centred opposite the bed – was our starting point. We personalised the wardrobe units from the chosen model to create different-sized units to frame the screen. While doing so, we maintained the proper internal wardrobe layout for the client’s storage requirements. The open-end shelving unit present in the showroom was also adapted. We added hooks to create a space for coats and scarves to be hung. We also adding in some shelving to hold light decorative items. Finally, the furniture was finished in a colour that perfectly complemented the client’s existing bed.

    The Result

The final design made the most of the existing space, meeting all the requirements in a way that appeared natural rather than forced. The colour scheme chosen also suited the client’s style, matching the bed that was present in the room. Having been pleased with the result of the bedroom, Christine and Jean later returned to finalise their living wall unit.
